The goal is to set up a holistic ecosystem which embraces good practices in organic farming and encouraging waste recycling.
The vision of Youth Programme is aimed at transforming lives by reaching out to youths to engage, embrace and encourage them.
The 40-seater cafe will double up as a training and activities centre. In addition to gourmet coffee, local coffee will be served in a “classy way”.
The cafe is intended to be a one-stop centre that engages the residents meaningfully.
The meeting centre is designed to offer an enjoyable, flexible and adaptive programme to provide emotional and social support, tailored to the needs of people living with dementia and their families.
Elderly residents visit the cafe for social interaction over a cup of coffee.
The cafe is also an assembly point for activities that are run outside Onesimus Village.
Onesimus Village @ Kebun Baru is a collaboration between Salem Chapel and Kebun Baru CC. It is a community initiative to engage the residents in Kebun Baru to a meaningful, dignified and purposeful way of life. This includes creating a compassionate kampung/ village culture that is inclusive and serves beyond the vulnerable community. The target segments of residents range from youths to unemployed and senior citizens (not limited to persons with dementia or elderly).
